Accommodation Overview

  • About View
    • Langton is located to the right after you enter the campus, off Corston Drive.
    • Langton halls of residence comprises of 5 blocks, each with two floors of accommodation.
    • There are two accessible bedrooms on the ground floor of block M and block O, with separate accessible toilets and shower also on the ground floor.
    • In block M and O the accessible room is straight ahead after entering the building.
    • Standard accommodation has shared bathrooms with shower pods.
    • Each block has a shared kitchen either on the ground or first floor, and shared showers on both floors.

Egress

  • Students who require assistance with evacuating a building will have a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP). If there is an emergency on a campus or on University premises the University Security team would check if a student needed support to evacuate.
  • If you are on campus, the University Security team can be called at any time to report an incident/emergency on 01225 875 555.

Getting Inside

  • There is a long slight slope to block M and block O.
  • Block M and block O both have one entrance, which are push pad activated.
  • Block M is signed with 'M' on the door.
  • Block O is signed with 'O' on the door.
  • Both entrances provide step-free level access to the ground floor of each appropriate block.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free level access on the ground floor only.
  • Access to the first floor is via stairs.
  • There is no lift.
  • The corridor walkways are all carpeted.
  • There is no resting/seating areas in the circulation and lobby areas.
  • There is no wayfinding signage in the circulation and lobby areas.
  • There are no doors in any of the circulation corridors.
