Egress

  • Students who require assistance with evacuating a building will have a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP). If there is an emergency on a campus or on University premises the University Security team would check if a student needed support to evacuate.
  • If you are on campus, the University Security team can be called at any time to report an incident/emergency on 01225 875 555.

Access To

  • The lecture theatre is on the ground floor, to the right hand side of the building.

  • The most accessible route has step-free level access, a lift and manual doors.

  • This is a lecture theatre.
  • There is step-free level access to the speaker’s area and front row only.
  • The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: the rows to the left after you enter the room.
  • The following areas have stepped access: the rows to the right after you enter the room.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is a fixed hearing assistance system which is not clearly signed.
  • The hearing assistance system was tested, however it was not working at the time of the survey.
  • Floor coverings are not even and could potentially cause a trip hazard.
  • The walls and floor have a low visual contrast.
  • Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey, with unshaded light sources.
