Access Guide
Getting To The Airport
- Belfast International Airport is situated 18 miles north-west of Belfast, approximately 30 minutes by car. It is 5 miles south of Antrim, approximately 12 minutes by car.
From Belfast take the M2 northbound, turn off at junction 5 and take the A57 to the airport.
From the North West and Antrim take the A26 to Antrim, then the Dublin Road / Antrim Road to the airport.
From the south and west take the M1 motorway to the Moira junction, and take the A26 north to the airport. - There is Drop Zone, Short Stay, Main Stay, Premium, and Long Stay parking on-site. Parking may be booked in advance.
There is a Park and Fly car park, with a shuttle service off-site which must be pre-booked in advance. - For more information on getting to Belfast International Airport by car please click here (opens new tab).
- There is a bus stop within 150 metres of the venue.
- From the Grand Central bus station in Belfast city centre, take the Airport Express 300 and 300A.
From the Antrim Bus Centre take the 109D bus service to the airport.

- The nearest Railway Station is Antrim.
- Antrim Station is approximately 4.9 miles from the airport. There are bus and taxi routes from the station to the airport.
- There is not an assisted travel handover process from the train station to the airport.

- Blue Badge holders may park in the Short Stay car park nearest the terminal at Long Stay prices. Please follow the steps on the website to pre-book parking at the reduced rate.

- Special Assistance Call Point 2 is located in the bus shelter by the bus stop directly opposite the terminal. There is seating available in the bus stop.
Getting Help and Assistance

- There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.
- There is no hearing assistance system.
- There is seating available.
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: mobile hoists, ceiling track hoists, wheelchairs, shower chairs and hoist slings. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance.
- There is a quiet space or reflection space.
- The alternative formats documents can be provided in include; Braille.
- Water bowls for assistance dogs are available.
- There is not a designated assistance dog spending area.
- If you are travelling through Belfast International Airport, dog toileting facilities will be made available on request.
Drop Off Zone
- There are clearly marked accessible pick up and drop off points available.

- The drop-off point is located off the main service road from Airport Road to the Drop Off Zone, Short Stay and Main Stay parking in front of the terminal.
- The drop-off point is limited to 10 minutes for £3.00.
- The most accessible route from the drop-off point to the terminal has step-free level access, dropped kerbs with tactile paving, dropped kerbs without tactile paving and bollards.
- The pick up point is located in front of the terminal.
- The pick-up point is limited to 10 minutes for £3.00.
- The most accessible route from the arrivals area to the pick-up point has step-free level access, dropped kerbs with tactile paving, dropped kerbs without tactile paving and bollards.
- Additional time can be paid for over the 10 minutes on exit.
- Barriers are automatic on entrance using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR).
- Payment is made at the exit using card or cash.
- At the time of survey (November 2025), the help points were out of order.

Parking Enquiries Office Entrance
- This entrance is located by the Main Stay and Short Stay car park exit.
- The approach to the entrance has uneven paving.

- The width of the opening is 90cm.
- There is an oversized threshold at the opening.
- The door has a high visual contrast.
Parking Enquiries Office
- The counter is located on the right as you enter.
- The counter is approximately 1m from the entrance.
- The counter is clearly visible from the entrance.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 104cm.
- The lowered section of the counter is at a height of 82cm.
- There is not a clear knee recess beneath the lowered section of the counter.
- The counter has glazed screens which may affect the ability of someone to lip read.
- There is sufficient space to write or sign documents on the counter.
- There is a fixed hearing assistance system which is not clearly signed.
- The hearing assistance system could not be tested at the time of the survey.
- There is no (or very little) background noise.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is step-free level access in this area.
- There is not designated seating available for people who require assistance.
