Access To
- CG193 - The Coates Laboratory is located on the first floor of the Chemistry Building, turn right at the main entrance, following the corridor round to the left, the laboratory is on the right hand side of the corridor.

- The most accessible route has step-free level access, manual doors and doors permanently held open.
- There is written text and numbered signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into CG193 - The Coates Laboratory.
- There are double manual doors which open towards you.
- One of the doors was locked at the time of the survey.
- The width of the opening is 83cm.
- The doors have a high visual contrast.
- This entrance has one door locked and one permanently open.
Teaching
- This is a lab.
- There is step-free level access throughout the room.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- Lighting levels were uneven at the time of the survey, with pools of light and shade.
- Lighting levels are adjustable.
- There are no designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: high stools.
- Furniture available in the room includes: high tables.
- Some tables are fixed.
- Some surface heights are suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear underside space of some surfaces is suitable for wheelchair users.
- The height of the speaker's desk/table is 145cm.
