Access To
- ER231 - Teaching Room is located on the first floor of the Elvet Riverside 2 building, towards the centre of the building.
- During time of survey (August 2024), the building lift was out of service.
The most accessible alternative route, which avoids the stairs, is going through the bridge which connects Elvet Riverside 1 and Elvet Riverside 2 on the first floor.

- The most accessible route has step-free level access, a lift, slight ramps or slopes and manual doors.
- The slope has a slight gradient.
- The ramp is over 150cm wide with no handrails.
- There is written text and numbered signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into ER231 - Teaching Room from the first floor corridor.
- There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 75cm.
- The door has a high visual contrast.
Teaching
- This is a teaching room.
- There is step-free level access throughout the room.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is a fixed hearing assistance system which is not clearly signed.
- The hearing assistance system was tested, however it was not working at the time of the survey.
- Floor coverings are even with no trip hazards.
- The walls and floor have a high visual contrast.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- Lighting levels are adjustable.
- There are no designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: chairs without armrests and lecture chairs.
- Furniture available in the room includes: tables.
- Some tables are fixed.
- Some surface heights are suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear underside space of the surfaces is not suitable for wheelchair users.
- The height of the speaker's desk/table is 91cm.
- The speaker's desk/table is not height adjustable.
- This room has a television screen and a whiteboard.
