Access To
- ES228/229 - Teaching Rooms are located on the second floor of The Arthur Holmes Building, to the left as you exit the lift and then in the corridor to the left.

- The most accessible route has step-free level access, a lift, manual doors and shiny flooring.
- There is written text and numbered signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access to enter ES228/229 - Teaching Rooms.
- There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
- The door has a locked extension leaf.
- The width of the opening is 78cm.
- The door has a high visual contrast.
- There are two similar doors to access the ES228/229 - Teaching Rooms.
Teaching
- This is a teaching room.
- There is step-free level access throughout the majority of areas.
- The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: the speaker's desk at the front.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is a fixed hearing assistance system which is not clearly signed.
- The hearing assistance system could not be tested at the time of the survey.
- Floor coverings are even with no trip hazards.
- The walls and floor have a high visual contrast.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- Lighting levels are adjustable.
- There are no designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: chairs without armrests.
- Furniture available in the room includes: tables and desks.
- Some tables are fixed.
- The surface heights are suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear underside space of the surfaces is suitable for wheelchair users.
- The height of the speaker's desk/table is 90cm.
- The speaker's desk/table is not height adjustable.
- This room has a television screen, a projector screen and a whiteboard.
- Rooms ES228 and ES229 are usually used as one large teaching room, however there is a folding partition wall that can allow for the rooms to be used independently.
There is a slight slope to access the speaker's desk.
