  • PH253 - Teaching Room is located on level 2 of the Rochester building, in the annexe at the front right of the building.
  • PH253 - Teaching Room is in a cluster of rooms only accessible via a staircase from level 1.
    Exiting the lift on level 1, turn left and follow the corridor, turning left and then right along a corridor leading to a cluster of rooms and staircase to level 2, through double doors to where PH253 - Teaching Room is immediately ahead.
    PH253 - Teaching Room is also accessible via the entrance to the Ogden Centre for Fundamental Physics - East, however, access is still reliant on use of the staircase to reach level 2 of the annexe.

  • The most accessible route has steps and manual doors.
  • There are 20+ steps with handrails on both sides.
  • The handrails are easy to grip.
  • The handrails cover the flight of stairs throughout its length.
  • The handrails extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.

  • The height of the steps is between 15cm and 18cm.
  • The height of the highest step is 17cm.
