View
- Boldon House is a large building with three floors.
- There are two lifts and four staircases within the building.
- The floors are signed as Level 0, Level 1 and Level 2.
They are also described on some floor plans and signage as Ground Floor, First Floor and Second Floor correspondingly. - View information on Boldon House.

Parking and Public Transport

- The venue has its own car park, with Blue Badge parking available.
- There is on-street standard parking and on-street Blue Badge Bay parking.
- The nearest train station is Durham.

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free via a very slight slope.
- There is a slight ramp on the approach to the entrances from the staff car park.
- Boldon House has three entrances: main entrance, side entrance and rear entrance.
The main entrance provides step-free level access to Level 0 (Ground Floor).
The side and rear entrances provide step-free ramped access to Level 0 from the car park.
There are university card activated automatic doors at each entrance to enter.
The side and rear entrances have push buttons to exit. - The main and side entrances are signed as Boldon House.
The rear entrance is signed Rear Entrance. - The main entrance provide step-free level access to the reception foyer on Level 0.
- The side entrance on the right side of the building off the staff car park has step-free access via a long slight ramp.
The rear entrance on the rear right of the building has step-free access via the same long slight ramp and a second slight ramp. - There is no access from the staff and visitor car park at the side of the building to the main entrance.
Getting Around
- There is step-free level access throughout the building on all floors.
- Floor surfaces along all circulation routes are hard and smooth with some having a patterned carpet. There are some areas with a shiny finish near entrances.
- There are resting area in some circulation and lobby areas with a mixture of seating.
- Wall mounted signage is provided throughout the building.
- There are manual doors to access corridors on the ground floor from the reception lobby and entrances. These entrances require a university card to enter and a push-button to exit.
There are manual doors in other corridors, but Level 1 and Level 0 are mainly open-plan office areas. - Portable IR hearing assistance headphones are available from the Boldon House main reception for use in the flexible space and Common Grounds café.
All the meeting rooms at Boldon House have 'Teams' systems that can be used through an individual’s laptops.

- There are 7 toilets with adaptations.
- Toilets with adaptations are located on all floors.
- The toilets with adaptations mostly have a left hand transfer space, except for the rear right toilet and shower with adaptations which has a right hand transfer.
- Ambulant toilet facilities are located in male and female toilet facilities on level 0 front left, level 1 front left and rear right, and level 2 front left and rear right.
- The male and female step-free toilet facilities are located on level 0 front left, level 1 front left and rear right, and level 2 front left and rear right.
