- The Palace Green in situated between Durham Castle home of University College Durham and Durham Cathedral. Around the green are also situated Abbey House, Café on the Green, Cosin's Hall, Divinity House, Monyer's Garth, Palace Green Library and Pemberton. The car park is also situated near to Dun Cow Lane, North Bailey and Owengate.

- The building is situated in the Peninsula which contains a lot of pedestrian traffic and may be difficult to drive around.
- Access to the Palace Green via car is only available via Saddler's Street and Owengate.

- There is a bus stop within 150 metres of the building.
- The nearest bus stop is the Cathedral Bus Stop situated off Palace Green which serves route 40D.

Palace Green Car Park
- At the entrance to the car park there is an intercom with controls at a height of 110cm.
- There are bollards that will sink into the ground allowing for access.
- The car park is situated around Palace Green.
- There are no fixed bays within the Car Park standard or otherwise.
- The car park is for only for Staff Permit Holders, Visitors Permit Holders and Visitors and Staff with Blue Badge bays.
- Blue Badge parking should be arranged in advance.
- The surface of the car park is tarmac.
- There are no parking fees at the car park.
- There is an automatic bollard on exiting the car park.
