Access To
- The Atrium is located on Level 00 of the Waterside Building - Durham University Business School.

- The most accessible route has shiny flooring and step-free level access.
- There is no signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into the Atrium.
- There are security barriers enroute from the main entrance.
The smaller security have a width of 82cm and the larger gate 92cm.

- Facilities available in this area include: the café, the main staircase and seating areas.
- There is step-free level access throughout the area.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- Some flooring is shiny and patterned.
- The walls and floor have a high visual contrast.
- Seating available in this area includes: sofas, chairs without armrests, armchairs, chairs with armrests and high stools.
- Furniture available in this area includes: high tables, booths, tables and coffee tables.
- Some chairs and tables are fixed.
- Some surface heights are suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear underside space of some surfaces is suitable for wheelchair users.
- There is no (or very little) background noise in this area.
- Wayfinding signage is provided.
- Signage is clearly visible with high contrasting colours.
- The colour, design and typeface of signs is consistent throughout.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- The café is located within the Atrium and uses the Atrium seating as its seating area.
The main staircase is accessed off the Atrium.
