Getting Inside

  • The approach to the accommodation blocks is step-free and with a very slight slope from the Orwell Terrace end of the site, and stepped access only from the footpath approach at the south end of the site.
  • There are four accommodation blocks, each with it's own entrance. There is step-free and level access into Carnethy House and Scold Law House, and step-free with a slight slope access to East Kip House and Caerketon House.
  • The entrances are signed by the block name Carnethy House, Scold Law House, East Kip House and Caerketon House.
  • The accessible entrance described provides step-free level access to the foyer of Carnethy House.

Reception Entrance

  • This entrance is located at the front of East Kip House.
  • The approach to the entrance has uneven surfaces.
  • The entrance area is clearly signed.
  • There is not a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
  • There is step-free access via slope at the entrance.
  • The slope has a slight gradient.
  • There is a key fob/card reader at a height of 130cm.

  • There is a single manual door at this entrance.
  • The door opens towards you.
  • The door requires effort to open.

Reception

  • The reception is located on the ground floor of East Kip House.

Getting Around Carnethy House
