Multimedia Guides
- Handheld Multimedia Guides are available to collect at the ship's pavilion upon arrival. There are multiple Guide Points throughout the ship. There is no set route around the ship, but the Detailed Access Guide provides an example of a route to follow. British Sign Language is also available. Lift (Deck 2 to Deck 1)
- There is a lift for public use.
- The lift is located along the Deck 1 internal ship corridor near the 'Feeding the Crew' area.
- Signs indicating the location of the lift are not available from the entrance.
- The lift is a platform lift.
- A member of staff does not need to be notified for use of the lift.
- The floors which are accessible by this lift are Deck 1 to Deck 01.
- Clear signs indicating the facilities on each floor are not provided on lift lobby landings.
- There is a clear level manoeuvring space of 150cm × 150cm in front of the lift.
- Lift doors do not contrast visually with lift lobby walls.
- The external controls for the lift are within 90cm - 110cm from the floor.
- The colour contrast between the external lift controls and the control plate is low.
- The colour contrast between the external lift control plate and the wall is High.
- The clear door width is 85cm (2ft 9in).
- The dimensions of the lift are 84cm x 125cm (2ft 9in x 4ft 1in).
- There are not separate entry and exit doors in the lift.
- There is not a mirror to aid reversing out of the lift.
- There is not a list of floor services available within the lift.
- The lift does not have a visual floor indicator.
- The lift does not have an audible announcer.
- The internal controls for the lift are within 90cm - 120cm from the floor.
- There is not a hearing loop system.
- The lift does not have Braille markings.
- The lift does not have tactile markings.
- The lighting levels in the lift are low to moderate.
Ladder - Deck 2 to Deck 1
- The ladder to access between Deck 2 and 1 is located along the ship’s corridor near the 'Home from Home' area.
- The ladder has handrails on both sides and there are gaps between each step.
- The ladder must be used facing forwards.
- There are also ladders located on the outer deck.
Ladder - Deck 02
- From the A-Turret, there are 2 sets of ladders leading up to Deck 02.
- The ladder has handrails on both sides.
- There are gaps between each step.
- The ladder must be used facing forwards.
- Between the two sets of ladders is a permanently held open hatch.
- The width of the hatch is 76cm.
- There is a seal in the hatch that must be stepped over.
- The height of the seal is 30cm.
Multimedia Guide Points 'Command and Control' and 'Communications' - Deck 02
- After the ladder, you will enter the Admiral's Bridge - once inside the room there is step-free access.
- This is the start of the Multimedia Guide Point ‘Command and Control’.
- Visitors are able to sit in the Admirals chair and look out over the ship.
- There is step-free access in the bridge.
- You then continue the tour along the Deck 02 outer deck.
- There is a hatch leading from the Admiral's Bridge to the out deck.
- The hatch is permanently held open and is 70cm wide.
- There is a 22cm seal in the hatchway which has to be stepped over to exit the bridge.
- There is step-free access across the outer bridge.
- There is a hatch leading from the outer deck to the internal deck corridor.
- The hatch is permanently held open and is 76cm wide.
- There is a 22cm seal in the hatchway which has to be stepped over to enter the deck.
- There is step-free access along the corridor.
- The surface of the flooring is vinyl.
- The next part of the Multimedia Guide is the Bridge Wireless Office (BWO).
- This is where the Multimedia Guide Point ‘Communications’ starts.
- There are two permanently held open hatches into the office.
- The width of the hatch is 77cm.
- There is a 15cm seal in the hatchway which must be stepped over.
- There is step-free access throughout the Bridge Wireless Office.
- There is a Morse Code desk located within the office.
- The height of the desk is 76cm.
- The exit from the office is via either entrance.
Ladder - Deck 04
- The Multimedia Guide continues up the ladder located next to the A-Turret.
- There are two sets of ladders leading up to Deck 04.
- The ladder has handrails on both sides.
- There are gaps between each step.
- The ladder must be used facing forwards.
Multimedia Guide Point 'Communications' - Flag Deck - Deck 04
- You are now at the Flag Deck/Gun Direction platform, where the Multimedia Guide Point ‘Communications’ continues.
- There is step-free access around the platform.
- This part of the tour is not sheltered.
- The surface of the flooring may be slippery if it is wet.
- There are ladders leading down from Deck 04 to 03.
Ladder - Deck 03
- There is one set of ladders leading to Deck 03.
- The ladder has handrails on both sides.
- There are gaps between each step.
- The ladder must be used facing forwards.
Multimedia Guide Point 'Communications' - Operations Room - Deck 03
- After the ladder, you will find the Operations Room, which is located along the corridor.
- There is a door into the room.
- The door is permanently held open with an opening width of 76cm.
- There is a 7cm step in the doorway.
- There is step-free access throughout the operations room.
- There is an interactive table.
- The height of the table is 96cm.
- The exit from the room is via the entrance.
- The route then moves along the deck corridor.
- There is step free access along the corridor.
- At the end of the corridor, there is a door into the Compass Platform.
- The door is permanently help opening with an opening width of 76cm.
- There is a 7cm step in the doorway.
- There is step-free access around the room.
- There is a ladder leading down from 03 to 02.
Ladder - Decks 02 and 01
- There are two sets of ladders leading to Decks 02 and 01.
- The ladder has handrails on both sides.
- There are gaps between each step.
- The ladder must be used facing forwards.
Admiral's and Captain's Sea Cabins - Decks 02 and 01
- The Admiral's Sea Cabin is located on Deck 02.
- There is no access into the room, and it is viewed from the corridor.
- The height of the viewing window is 110cm.
- The Captain's Sea Cabin is located on Deck 01.
- There is no access into the room, and it is viewed from the corridor.
- The height of the viewing window is 110cm.

- There is ladder leading from Deck 01 to Deck 1.
- The ladder has handrails on both sides.
- There are gaps between each step.
