Overview

Getting Inside

  • The approach to the building is step-free via slopes.
  • Some surfaces of the approach are uneven, with loose gravel.
  • The Observatory has one entrance only, it has a stepped and sloped access and manual doors.
  • The building is signed as the Keele Earth and Space Observatory.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free level access throughout the majority of the building.
  • Access to the Thornton 24" Telescope is via 4 well marked steps, with a handrail on the left going down, alternatively it can be accessed via the fire escape on the same level.
  • Floor surfaces along circulation routes are carpeted and smooth.
