- South Wing and East Wing are connected internally on the ground and first floors.
- This guide describes example publicly accessible features, and any features specific to King's College London.
- There are 4 main lifts and 3 main staircases within South Wing.
- There are 3 main lifts and 1 main staircase in East Wing.
- The floors are named LG for lower ground floor in the South Wing, G for ground floor in both wings, 1 to 4 for the first to fourth floors in the South Wing, and 1 to 11 for the first to eleventh floors in the East Wing.

- King's College departments within South Wing are the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences (BMEIS) on the lower ground floor and the first floor, the Department of Perinatal Imaging & Health (PIH) on the first floor, and Twin Research on the third and fourth floors.
Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free.
- South Wing and East Wing are connected internally.

- There is an internal entrance to the South Wing on the first floor from the North Wing via a long slope with a slight gradient.

Getting Around
- There is step-free level access throughout the buildings on all floors.
- There are 9 medium height steps to the social space within the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences (BMEIS) and Department of Perinatal Imaging and Health (PIH) on the first floor of the South Wing.
- There are 4 deep steps to some offices and the female and male standard toilets within BMEIS and PIH on the first floor of the South Wing.
- There is a short ramp with a slight gradient at the end of the corridor from the East Wing entrance.
- There is a long slope with a steep gradient from the entrance corridor to the main areas within BMEIS and PIH on the first floor of the South Wing.
- Floor surfaces along all circulation routes are hard and smooth, with some having a shiny finish.
- There are resting areas in circulation areas on the ground floor with a mixture of seating in the South Wing.
- There are wall mounted floor plans and wayfinding signage throughout the building in the South Wing.

Toilet Facilities

- There are 6 toilets with adaptations.
- Toilets with adaptations are located on South Wing lower ground floor within the School of Biomedical Engineering & Life Sciences (BMEIS) area, on South Wing ground floor within the Governors' Hall and to the left of South Wing within the Eye Department, off the South Wing second floor lift lobby for Lifts C and Stairs C, and on the South Wing third and fourth floors within the Twin Research facility.
- The transfer space varies between left and right in the toilets with adaptations.
- There are no accessible or standard toilets for King's College use in the East Wing.
- The toilet with adaptations including baby change facility located within the Hospital Eye Department are included in this guide as a matter of convenience.
- Toilets with adaptations with a left-hand transfer space are located on the ground floor in the Governor's Hall, on the second floor next to Lift C, and on the third floor in the Twin Research facility.
- The toilet in the Governor's Hall does not have a suitable manoeuvring space.
- Toilets with adaptations with a right-hand transfer space are located on the lower ground floor within the BMEIS, on the ground floor in the Hospital Eye Department, and on the fourth floor in the Twin Research facility.
- Ambulant toilet facilities are located off South Wing second floor lift lobby for Lift C and Stairs C.
- The male and female step-free toilet facilities are located on the ground floor of South Wing within the Governor's Hall area, and on the lower ground floor within the BMEIS area.
- The shared step-free toilet facilities are located on the ground floor to the left of South Wing within the Eye Department, on the lower ground floor within shower facility of the BMEIS area, and on the South Wing third and fourth floors within the Twin Research facility.
- There is also an ambulant toilet for children off the South Wing second floor lift lobby for Lift C and Stairs C.

- Payment machines are located along the covered pavement in front of the building, and inside the building on the lower ground floor.
- There is not a payment machine with controls at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- Parking is free for Blue Badge holders with a medical appointment. An appointment card or certificate is required to qualify for free parking. This must be presented to staff in the Knowledge Information Centre (KIC) on the ground floor, or the North Wing.
