Getting Help and Assistance

- There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.
- British Sign Language can be provided virtually.
- There is a designated assistance dog spending area.
- The sunflower room is located in the Terminal 1 Departures Lounge.
There is an assistance dog spending area located in Terminal 2 next to Departure Gates B.
Passengers are escorted to this area by a member of staff.
Passengers with booked assistance: Passengers who have booked assistance should note that you can only be dropped off near to the Departures area.
If you require help to get to the assistance check-in desk, passenger's helpers are required to park in the short-term parking at arrivals, walk through to arrivals, go up a lift and around the corner to reach the assistance check-in desk, and request further assistance for the passenger.
All parking in the multi-storey is pre-booked only.
Toilet and Changing Facilities
- There is 1 toilet with adaptations.
- Toilets with adaptations are located to the rear of the car hire reception building.
- The toilet with adaptations has a left hand transfer space.
- Step-free male and female toilet facilities are located to the rear or the car hire village reception.
- Parent and baby changing facilities are located within the toilet with adaptations.
Entrance
- This entrance is located to the front of the car rental village reception.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- The entrance area is clearly signed.
- There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at this entrance.
- There are no help points available.
- There are double automatic doors which open by sliding.
- The push pad for the automatic doors is at a height of 93cm.
- The width of the opening is 142cm.
- There is an oversized threshold at the opening.
- The doors have a low visual contrast.
- There is a second set of manual doors which open by sliding.
- The width of the opening is 123cm.
- There is an oversized threshold at the opening.
- The second doors has a low visual contrast.
- There is step-free level access as you enter the entrance.
Getting Around
- There is step-free level access throughout all areas.
- Some flooring is shiny.
- There is a high visual contrast between the walls and floor in all areas.
- There is background noise in some areas of the venue.
- Wayfinding signage is provided.
- The colour, design and typeface of signs is consistent throughout.
- Seating available in the walkways includes: chairs without armrests.

Car Rental Desks
- The car rental desks are located to either side of the entrance.

Seating Area
- The seating area is located to the right of the entrance.

- There is not designated seating available for people who require assistance.
- There is space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest in the seating area.
- There are fixed chairs without armrests available in this area.
- The tables are not suitable for wheelchair users (between 70cm - 80cm and free from obstruction).
- Some flooring is shiny.
- There is no (or very little) background noise.

Toilet with Adaptations (Left Hand Transfer)
- This toilet is located to the rear of the car hire village reception building.
- This toilet is approximately 29m from the car hire village reception entrance.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
- The door to enter opens outwards and has a high visual contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 86cm.

- The most accessible route from the vehicle return point to the reception has step-free level access and dropped kerbs with tactile paving.
