Getting Help and Assistance

- There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.
- British Sign Language can be provided virtually.
- There is a designated assistance dog spending area.
- The sunflower room is located in the Terminal 1 Departures Lounge.
There is an assistance dog spending area located in Terminal 2 next to Departure Gates B.
Passengers are escorted to this area by a member of staff.
Passengers with booked assistance: Passengers who have booked assistance should note that you can only be dropped off near to the Departures area.
If you require help to get to the assistance check-in desk, passenger's helpers are required to park in the short-term parking at arrivals, walk through to arrivals, go up a lift and around the corner to reach the assistance check-in desk, and request further assistance for the passenger.
All parking in the multi-storey is pre-booked only.
Parking
- The car park is located on Atlanta Avenue.
- This is a multi storey car park with a concrete surface.
- The height of the height restriction barrier is 200cm.
- The car park has an intercom and an automatic number plate recognition barrier control system.
- Controls for the barrier may be difficult to reach.
- There is 1 designated Blue Badge parking bay available.
- Blue Badge parking is clearly marked.
- The Blue Badge parking bay dimensions are 227cm x 390cm.
- There is a marked zone on one side and to the rear.
- There are low level help points available.
- There are not parent and child parking bays available.
- The Blue Badge bay is located on Level B.
- Parking is not free for Blue Badge holders.
- Parking is not free for pick up and drop off.

- The most accessible route from the Blue Badge parking to the terminal building has dropped kerbs with tactile paving, dropped kerbs without tactile paving and bollards.
- There is a pedestrian crossing between the car park and the terminal.
- The car park has an automatic number plate recognition barrier control system at the exit.
Lift
- The lift surveyed is located in the car park pedestrian exit lobby.
- The distance from the pedestrian exit is 4m.
- The most accessible route to the lift has step-free level access.
- Level A, B, C and D are accessed by this lift.
- The lift door has a high visual contrast.
- The lift has a level manoeuvring space in front of it for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- The external lift control buttons have tactile markings and a high visual contrast.
- All of the external lift controls are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The lift door opening width is 109cm.
- The internal dimensions of the lift are 197cm (width) x 186cm (depth).
- The internal lift control buttons have tactile markings and a high visual contrast.
- All of the internal lift controls are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- Internally the lift has: a visual floor indicator, an audible announcer and a list of floor services/facilities.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- There are other lifts available at this location which are of a similar size.
Stairs
- The stairs surveyed are located to the right of the pedestrian entrance on the ground floor.
- There is a single manual door to access the stairwell.
- Level A, B, C and D can be accessed by these stairs.
- There are 20+ steps between floors.
- The steps are unmarked and have handrails on both sides.
- The handrails are easy to grip.
- The handrails cover the flight of stairs throughout its length.
- The handrails do not extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.
- The height of the steps is not between 15cm and 18cm.
- The height of the highest step is 19cm.
- The depth of the steps is not between 30cm and 45cm.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
Exit (Pedestrian)
- The exit area is clearly signed.
- There is step-free level access at the exit.
- There is an opening without doors.
- The width of the opening is 625cm.
- There is step-free level access as you exit.
