Getting Help and Assistance

- There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.
- British Sign Language can be provided virtually.
- There is a designated assistance dog spending area.
- The sunflower room is located in the Terminal 1 Departures Lounge.
There is an assistance dog spending area located in Terminal 2 next to Departure Gates B.
Passengers are escorted to this area by a member of staff.
Passengers with booked assistance: Passengers who have booked assistance should note that you can only be dropped off near to the Departures area.
If you require help to get to the assistance check-in desk, passenger's helpers are required to park in the short-term parking at arrivals, walk through to arrivals, go up a lift and around the corner to reach the assistance check-in desk, and request further assistance for the passenger.
All parking in the multi-storey is pre-booked only.

- This guide covers the following airport parking area: Multi Storey T2 West.
Toilet and Changing Facilities
- There are 4 toilets with adaptations.
- Toilets with adaptations are located on Levels 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4.
- All toilets with adaptations have a left hand transfer space.
Parking
- The car park is located at the west end of Terminal 2.
- This is a multi storey car park with a concrete surface.
- The height of the height restriction barrier is 200cm.
- The car park has a push button and an automatic number plate recognition barrier control system.
- Controls for the barrier may be difficult to reach.
- There are more than 50 designated Blue Badge parking bays available.
- Blue Badge parking is clearly marked.
- The Blue Badge parking bay dimensions are 233cm x 465cm.
- There is a marked zone on both sides and to the rear.
- The marked zone is under 120cm wide.
- There are help points available, but not at a low level.
- There are not parent and child parking bays available.
- Parking is not free for Blue Badge holders.
- Parking is not free for pick up and drop off.
- Clearly presented payment terms signs are provided.
- Payment signs are located at the entrance to the car park.
- Payment machines are located on all levels and in the terminal building.
- There is a payment machine at a convenient height for wheelchair users.
- There is a level turning space (minimum 185cm x 210cm) in front of the payment machine(s).

- If parking has not been pre booked payment is due when exiting the car park.
- The most accessible route from the Blue Badge parking to the terminal building has steep slopes/ramps.
- There is not a bus service available that runs between the car park and the terminal.
- The car park has an automatic number plate recognition barrier control system at the exit.
- Controls for the barrier may be difficult to reach.
- For none pre-booked parking, a token is obtained from the payment machines to exit the car park.
Pick up and Drop Off Points (Level 0)
- There is a clearly marked pick up point available.
- The pick up point is located on Level 0 of the airport.
- The most accessible route from the arrivals area to the pick-up point has steep slopes/ramps.

Toilet with Adaptations (Level 4 - Left Hand Transfer)
- This toilet is located next to the lifts on level 4.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
- The door to enter opens outwards and has a high visual contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 112cm.
- The door has a lever twist lock.
- Internally the door has a high visual contrast.
- There is not a grab rail on the internal door .
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 195cm x 210cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat.
- The lateral transfer space is 125cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
- There is a lever flush on the transfer side.
- There is a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side.
- The horizontal grab rail has a high visual contrast with the surrounding walls.
- There is a vertical grab rail on the transfer side.
- The vertical grab rail has a high visual contrast with the surrounding walls.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.

Lift (Main Lifts)
- The lift is located at the end of the car park towards the terminal.
- The floors which are accessible by the lift surveyed are Levels 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
- The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
- The lift door has a high visual contrast.
- The external lift control buttons have a low visual contrast.
- All of the external lift controls are at the recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
- The lift door opening width is 182cm.
- The internal dimensions of the lift are 233cm x 169cm.
- The internal lift control buttons have Braille markings, tactile markings and a low visual contrast.
- All of the internal lift controls are at the recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
- Internally the lift has: a visual floor indicator and an audible announcer.
- Lighting levels are bright.
- There are other lifts which are similar in size at the same location.
Lift (Core 3)
- The lift is located to the left of the pick up area.
- The floors which are accessible by the lift surveyed are Levels 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
- The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
- The lift door has a low visual contrast.
- The external lift control buttons have a low visual contrast.
- All of the external lift controls are at the recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
- The lift door opening width is 100cm.
- The internal dimensions of the lift are 105cm x 147cm.
- The internal lift control buttons have tactile markings, a low visual contrast and Braille markings.
- All of the internal lift controls are at the recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
- Internally the lift has: a mirror to aid reversing, a visual floor indicator and an audible announcer.
- Lighting levels are bright.
Stairs (Core 3)
- The floors which are accessible by stairs are Levels 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
- There are 18 steps, which are clearly marked, with handrails on both sides.
- The handrail is easy to grip.
- The handrails cover the flight of stairs throughout its length.
- The handrails do not extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.
- Steps are split with a resting area.
- The height of the highest step is 18cm.
- Lighting levels are bright.
Exit (Terminal 2 - Level 0)
- This exit is located on Level 0 at the end of the car park towards the terminal building.
- There are help points available, but not at a low level.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the exit.
- The steep ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with handrails on both sides.
- The handrails are easy to grip.
- There are double automatic doors which open away from you.
- The width of the opening is 185cm.
- There is an oversized threshold at the opening.
- The doors have a medium visual contrast.
- There is step-free level access after you exit.
Exit (T2 West Car Park - Level 3 to Terminal 2)
- This exit is located on Level 3.
- There are help points available, but not at a low level.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the exit.
- The steep ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with handrails on both sides.
- The handrails are easy to grip.
- There are double automatic gates which opens by sliding.
- The width of the opening is 200cm.
- The doors has a low visual contrast.
- There is a second set of automatic gates which opens by sliding.
- The width of the opening is 200cm.
- The second doors has a high visual contrast.
- There is step-free level access after you exit.
