Admissions
- At this location the following are free to access for all visitors: the grounds and Farmers Fayre Café.
- At this location the following areas are free to access for National Trust members but payable for everyone else: the Charterhouse and Walled Garden.

Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders and fidget toys.

Parking
- This site has a car park.
- This car park has a maximum vehicle height restriction of 205cm.
- This is an open air car park with a tarmac surface.
- Parking is free for National Trust members, but charges apply for all other visitors.
- There are clearly presented payment signs.
- Maps and information boards are not available.
- There are 5 Blue Badge parking bays.
- The dimensions of the designated Blue Badge parking bay(s) surveyed are 175cm x 490cm.
- There is a hatched zone on both sides and to the rear.
- The hatched zone is under 120cm wide.
- There are not parent and child parking bays available.
- There is not a designated drop-off point.
Public Transport

Entrance (Charterhouse)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the house.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 100cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of less than 1.5cm.
Visitor Reception
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- The majority of aisle widths are over 150cm.
- There is room for wheelchair users to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm) within the majority of the area.
- All flooring is smooth and even.
- The majority of the flooring includes large repeating patterns in bold colours, which may look like steps or holes to some people.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 86cm.
- There is not a low level section at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The counter has windows, TVs, glazed screens or mirrors which could adversely affect the ability of someone to lip read.

Entrance (Charterhouse to Walled Garden)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the rear of the ground floor.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which opens towards you.
- The width of the opening is 94cm.
- There is a second entrance out to the walled garden, which has a double door with one door locked. The width is 73cm when locked, and 146cm wide when unlocked. There is a small lip after this entrance.
Please speak to staff if you need both doors opened.
Outdoor Spaces (Walled Garden)
- Access into the area is via steps and a steep ramp/slope (which bypasses any steps).
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: loose chippings and grass.
- Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and more than 3 steps with handrails in the main areas.
- After entering the walled garden there are 4 steps with handrails on both sides giving access to the lowered area of the walled garden. These can be bypassed by following the path along the bottom and side of the garden, which has a slight slope and gives access to the lower garden.
There are 8 steps with handrails on both sides which can give access to the upper area of the garden. There is a slope which can bypass these steps.
In the upper garden, there are some slight slopes on the paths and there are some raised flower beds that are stepped access only but the majority have step-free access. - There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
Picnic Area (Upper Walled Garden)
- The following information describes the picnic area located in the Upper Walled Garden.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There are picnic tables.
- Adapted picnic tables are available.
- The distance between the floor and the underside of the lowest picnic table is 73cm.
- The standard height for the underside of picnic tables is 76cm.
- The following furniture is permanently fixed: seating which is fixed to tables.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to grass and loose chippings.
