Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (the Lake Walk)

  • From the car park, take the gravel path on the right.
    There is a slight slope on the right.
    This is the beginning of the Lake Walk.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are compact earth and gravel.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located to the right from the car park, to the left of the site map.
  • Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
  • The slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There is open access at the surveyed access point.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: parkland and woodland.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, grass, gravel, compact earth, uncompacted earth and loose stones.
  • Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor spaces.
  • The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is step-free level access around some of the area.
  • There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
  • There are slight and steep slopes throughout the outdoor spaces.
  • There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.

Hikes and Trails (Lake Walk)

  • The walk is approximately 1.2 miles.
  • Exit the car park via the slight sloped path, to the left of the site map and beyond the children's play area.
    Turn left at the T junction and take the path on the right at the fork in the path.
    Follow the path through the estate to the T junction, go through the open gateway and turn right.
    Off this path, turn left to get to the viewpoint of the lake and some bench seating.
    Go back and re-join the path, following this with the lake on the left.
    Turn left at the T junction.
    Follow the tarmac path and take the next available left, then the left onto the compacted gravel path back to the car park.
  • The walk is open 24 hours.
  • None of the paths are lit at night.
  • The route includes the following surfaces: tarmac, concrete, gravel and compacted gravel.
  • Some of the route contains steep gradients.
  • These are found in the following areas: There are some steep gradients at the beginning and end of the walk.
  • There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
  • The route is not clearly signposted.
  • Seating is available on the route.
  • There are no toilet facilities along the route.
