Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair and cycles. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: binoculars, magnifying glass and activity sheets.

- There are charges to borrow the cycles.
- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a mobility scooter. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (the Lake Walk)
- From the car park, take the gravel path on the right.
There is a slight slope on the right.
This is the beginning of the Lake Walk. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are compact earth and gravel.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located to the right from the car park, to the left of the site map.
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: parkland and woodland.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, grass, gravel, compact earth, uncompacted earth and loose stones.
- Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- There are slight and steep slopes throughout the outdoor spaces.
- There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
Hikes and Trails (Lake Walk)
- The walk is approximately 1.2 miles.
- Exit the car park via the slight sloped path, to the left of the site map and beyond the children's play area.
Turn left at the T junction and take the path on the right at the fork in the path.
Follow the path through the estate to the T junction, go through the open gateway and turn right.
Off this path, turn left to get to the viewpoint of the lake and some bench seating.
Go back and re-join the path, following this with the lake on the left.
Turn left at the T junction.
Follow the tarmac path and take the next available left, then the left onto the compacted gravel path back to the car park. - The walk is open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.
- The route includes the following surfaces: tarmac, concrete, gravel and compacted gravel.
- Some of the route contains steep gradients.
- These are found in the following areas: There are some steep gradients at the beginning and end of the walk.
- There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
- The route is not clearly signposted.
- Seating is available on the route.
- There are no toilet facilities along the route.
