Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (the Book Shop)

  • Exit the car park and take the path which leads into the stable yard.
    Go across the yard to the right and the bookshop is under the archway exit.
  • The route to the area is step-free level.
  • Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, gravel, cobbles and paving stones.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Entrance

  • The entrance surveyed is located to the left when exiting the stable yard, towards the visitor reception.
  • There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance.
  • The very steep ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 96cm.
  • There is a second manual door which is permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 102cm.

Shop

  • The majority of aisle widths are under 150cm.
  • Flooring in the shop is not smooth and even.
  • Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to uneven paving/tiles.
  • There is step-free level access around the shop.
  • There is no (or very little) background noise here.
  • Lighting levels are moderate to good.
  • There is step-free level access to the counter.
  • The height of the counter is 80cm.
  • The counter does not have a hearing assistance system.
  • Services/facilities available in the shop include: a member of staff to provide assistance.
  • Card payments must be made at the visitor reception.
