Route to (Kitchen Garden)

  • From the rear of the blue badge parking, turn left and follow the path around towards the right.
    As you reach the junction, turn right and continue along the path to the rear of the Orangery Café building.
    At the end of the path there is an open set of gates which takes you into the Kitchen Garden.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are concrete and gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

  • This route is the most accessible route.
    There are additional routes to access the Kitchen Garden which involve steps from the South Terrace and steps to the right of the Orangery Café building.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located at the rear right side of the Orangery Café.
  • Access into the area is via a steep ramp/slope.
  • The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • The access points to the area are located to left of the Orangery Café there is a manual door with stepped access to the Kitchen Garden and there is also a slight upwards slope from The Plats.
  • There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
  • The gate is not self-closing.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: formal gardens.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: gravel and loose stones.
  • Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is step-free level access around the area.
  • There are not any bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
