- This is an open air car park with a tarmac and compacted gravel surface.
- Parking is free for all users.
- Maps and information boards are available.
- There are more than 10 Blue Badge parking bays.
- The dimensions of the designated Blue Badge parking bay(s) surveyed are 230cm x 470cm.
- There is a hatched zone on both sides but not to the rear.
- The hatched zone is under 120cm wide.
- The nearest Blue Badge bay is 60m from the visitor reception.
- Obstacles from the car park include: slopes/ramps, a lack of pedestrian walkways to cross the car park and bollards with high colour contrast but no visual identification band.
- There are not parent and child parking bays available.

Picnic Area
- The following information describes the picnic area located outside visitor reception, and on the grassed area opposite.
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide.
- There are picnic tables.
- No chairs have armrests on both sides.
- Adapted picnic tables are available.
- The distance between the floor and the underside of the lowest picnic table is 61cm.
- The distance between the floor and the underside of the highest picnic table is 66cm.
- The standard height for the underside of picnic tables is 70cm.
- The following furniture is permanently fixed: all of the chairs and all of the tables.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- Some of the surface in the picnic area in the area is smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to grass, loose chippings and bark chippings.

Toilet with Adaptations (Visitor Reception - Ambulant - Transfer Both Sides)

- There are lateral transfer spaces on both sides of the seat.
- The transfer space on the left as you face the toilet is 152cm.

- There is a push button flush on the left transfer side.
- The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the door.

Standard Toilet (Visitor Reception)

- The male and female standard toilets were surveyed.
- The width of the widest cubicle door opening is 69cm.
- The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There are no hand dryers.
- There is a baby change facility which is not at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys, sunglasses and soft toy.

- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Visitor Reception
- There is step-free level access into the area.
