Access To
- 1.12 uCreate Maker Space is located on the first floor of the Main Library, next to the Wellbeing Collection.
- View information on Main Library, George Square (opens new tab).
- The most accessible route has step-free level access, a lift, doors permanently held open and automatic doors.
- There is written text and numbered signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into 1.12 uCreate Maker Space.
- There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 86cm.
- The door has a high visual contrast.
- There is a key fob/card reader at a height of 128cm.
- There is a push pad or push button to exit at a height of 119cm.
Teaching
- This is a teaching room.
- There is step-free level access throughout the room.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- Floor coverings are not even and could potentially cause a trip hazard.
- The walls and floor visual contrast varies between low and high.
- Lighting levels vary due to the use of large glazed walls.
- There are no designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: riser recliner chairs and high stools.
- Furniture available in the room includes: tables, high tables, desks and height adjustable desks.
- Some seating and desks are fixed.
- Some surface heights are suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear underside space of some surfaces is suitable for wheelchair users.
- This room has a television screen and a whiteboard.
- Trailing cables from equipment, cable hatches in the flooring and items stored at floor level could present as trip hazards.
