Access Guide
Access To
- 1.2 Gallery is located to the rear left of McEwan Hall on the first floor next to the Reception Room.
- Step-free access is only available via the Reception Room Lift and by travelling through the Reception Room.
Stepped access is available via a staircase that leads directly into the Gallery. - View information on McEwan Hall (opens new tab) .
- The most accessible route has step-free level access, a lift, a slight ramp or slope, manual doors, shiny flooring and patterned flooring.
- There is no signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access 1.2 - Gallery.
- There are double manual doors which open towards you.
- The width of the opening is 132cm.
- The doors have a low visual contrast.
Teaching
- This is a breakout space.
- There is step-free level access throughout the room.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- The flooring is shiny and patterned.
- Floor coverings are not even and could potentially cause a trip hazard.
- The walls and floor have a high visual contrast.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Furniture available in the room includes: tables.
- Some surface heights are suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear underside space of some surfaces is suitable for wheelchair users.
