Overview

Getting Inside

  • There is a very slight slope running along the length of the Old Medical School Courtyard, with either a steep slope or steps to access the area in front of the Doorway 4 main entrance.
    The area directly in front of the Doorway 4 main entrance has a slight slope.
  • The building has 1 main entrance which provides ramped or stepped access to the ground floor via a set of automatic double doors.
    There are 2 interior entrances from the Chrystal Macmillan building (ground and first floors) which provide step-free level access to the Ground and 0M floors of Doorway 4. Both these interior entrances have manual doors.
  • The main entrance is signed as Doorway 4.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free access via lift throughout the majority of the building.
    There are many stepped level changes throughout, with most having a lift to overcome the level change.
    There are many slight ramps throughout the building with different widths and handrail configurations.
  • The ground floor has a stepped level change along the main corridor which can be overcome via platform lift.
    On the ground floor there is a slight ramp to access rooms G.10 - G.12.
    The 0M floor can be accessed via either a staircase or by using the Chrystal Macmillan first floor entrance.
