Access To
- Screening Room G.04 is located on the ground floor of George Square, 50, at the end of the corridor on the left as you enter.
- View information on George Square, 50 (opens new tab) .
- The most accessible route has step-free level access, doors permanently held open and shiny flooring.
- There is written text signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into Screening Room G.04.
- There are double manual doors which open towards you.
- One of the doors was locked at the time of the survey.
- The width of the opening is 77cm.
- The doors have a medium visual contrast.
Teaching
- This is a lecture room.
- There is step-free level access throughout the majority of areas.
- The following areas have stepped access: the rear 4 rows of seating.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- Floor coverings are not even and could potentially cause a trip hazard.
- The walls and floor have a medium visual contrast.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey, with unshaded light sources.
- Lighting levels are adjustable.
- There is tiered seating with no handrails at the steps.
- There are no designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: chairs with armrests and lecture chairs.
- The height of the speaker's desk/table is 90cm.
- The speaker's desk/table is not height adjustable.
- The lectern is height adjustable.
- The lectern cannot be adjusted to a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- This room has a projector screen and a whiteboard.
- There is a cable near the speaker's desk which may be a trip hazard.
