Access To
- The SCS Meeting Room is located on the ground floor of 13-15 South College Street, at the rear of the student hub.
- View information on South College St, 13-15 (opens new tab).
- The most accessible route has step-free level access, slight ramps or slopes, uneven surfaces and manual doors.
- There is written text and numbered signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into the SCS Meeting Room.
- There are double manual doors which open away from you.
- One of the doors was locked at the time of the survey.
- The locked door can be opened on request.
- The width of the opening is 93cm.
- The doors have a low visual contrast.
SCS Meeting Room
- This is a meeting room.
- There is step-free level access throughout the room.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- Floor coverings are not even and could potentially cause a trip hazard.
- The walls and floor have a high visual contrast.
- Lighting levels were uneven at the time of the survey, with pools of light and shade and unshaded light sources.
- Lighting levels are adjustable.
- There are no designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: chairs with armrests, chairs without armrests and riser recliner chairs.
- Furniture available in the room includes: tables.
- The surface heights are suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear underside space of the surfaces is suitable for wheelchair users.
- This room has a television screen and a whiteboard.
- The floor coverings are not even due to the presence of recessed floor power boxes. These plastic covers may not sit perfectly flush with the surrounding flooring, creating a potential trip hazard.
