Access To
- The entrance to the Moray House Library is directly opposite the main lift on the first floor of Dalhousie Land.

- The most accessible route has step-free level access, a lift and shiny flooring.
- There is written text signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into Moray House Library.
- There are double automatic doors which open towards you.
- The push pad for the automatic doors is at a height of 100cm.
- The width of the opening is 150cm.
- The doors have a high visual contrast.
- There is a push pad or push button to exit at a height of 100cm.
- There is a turnstile to enter the library with a width of 62cm and an exit gate with a width of 100cm.
A card reader is needed to activate the turnstile at a height of 100cm.
There are also security barriers with a width of 100cm.
Rooms and Services in the Building
Reception
- The reception is located to your right after entering.
- The distance from the library entrance is 10m.
- There is step-free level access to reception.
- The height of the reception desk is 90cm.
- There is not a lowered section at the desk.

Library

Stairs (First and Second Floor)
- The stairs surveyed are located towards the rear right of the library.
- The first floor, second floor lower area, second floor upper area can be accessed by these stairs.
- There are 18 steps between floors.
- The steps are clearly marked and have a handrail on the right going up.
- The handrail is not easy to grip.
- The handrail covers the flight of stairs throughout its length.
- The handrail does not extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.
- The height of the steps is between 15cm and 18cm.
- The height of the highest step is 16cm.
- The depth of the steps is not between 30cm and 45cm.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- There are handrails on either side on the stairs between the lower area of the second floor and the upper area of the second floor.
