Accommodation Overview

    • The Scott Hotel is located within the Pollock Halls of Residence complex, which is located to the south of Edinburgh city centre, in the St Leonard's area of the city.
    • This is a hotel which is part of the University of Edinburgh Hospitality Collection. It is spread over 4 floors with no lift, however the upper floors contain only bedrooms, with all main services and several rooms being situated on the ground floor.

Getting Inside

  • The approach to the building is step-free level.
  • There are steep slopes, narrow walkways and uneven surfaces on the approach to the building from The Scholar and The Scott Car Park.

    There is one set of double, manual, permanently held open doors followed by a second set of single manual doors at this entrance.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free access throughout the hotel on the ground floor, with slight ramps to access some of the bedrooms, including bedroom 9.
    There is stepped access throughout the first floor and second floor.
    There is step-free level access throughout the third floor, however access to the first, second and third floors is via stairs only - there is no lift within the hotel.
  • On the ground floor, there is a slight ramp with no handrails to access bedrooms 4-12.
