Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free.
- There are no external entrances to Ashworth Extension (Ashworth 2).
- Ashworth Extension (Ashworth 2) has seven internal entrances, all entrances provide step-free level access via lift.
There are two entrances from the Ashworth Laboratories building and five entrances from the Ashworth Extension New Wing (Ashworth 3). - The entrances are signed G, 1, 2, 3,and 4 on the internal doors just past the stairwell from the Ashworth Laboratories side of the building.
- The entrance on the ground floor of the Ashworth Laboratories building gives direct access to floor 1 of the Ashworth Extension (Ashworth 2) building and gives direct access to the elevator on floor 1.
The entrance on the ground floor of the Ashworth Building New Wing (Ashworth 3) gives step-free access to the ground floor of the Ashworth Extension (Ashworth 2)
Getting Around
- It is possible to bypass all steps once inside the building by using the lift.
- There are link entrances on floor 1 and floor 2 to the Ashworth Laboratories.
There are link entrances on the ground floor and floors 1, 2, 3 and 4 to the Ashworth Extension New Wing (Ashworth 3). - There is a narrow corridor, along the circulation route on all floors.
- Floor surfaces along all circulation routes are hard and smooth, with some having a shiny finish.
- There are no resting areas on circulation routes.
- Wayfinding signage is not provided along circulation routes to assist people in finding their way around.
- There are manual doors in some corridor areas.
