Overview

  • About View
    • The King's Buildings campus has a number of car parks across the campus as well as outside individual buildings.
      All parking at King's Buildings campus is by permit only.
      The link for the parking map at King's Buildings may be found below.
      There is standard on-street parking on West Mains Road and the surrounding streets but this can become busy.
      All on-street parking is controlled by the City of Edinburgh Council.
    • Staff and student Blue Badge holders who wish to park within the City, King's Buildings or Easter Bush Campus car parks should apply for a Disabled All Areas Permit.
      Permits for Blue Badge holders is free of charge.
    • There is additional parking outside individual buildings, which is also restricted to permit holders only.
      Information on such parking can be found in the Detailed Access Guides for the buildings.
    • There are four main vehicle gates to enter the campus.
      Gate 1 and Gate 2 are off West Mains Road to the north of the campus.
      Gate 3 and Gate 4 are off Mayfield Road to the east of the campus.

Parking (Max Born Crescent - Bus Stops)

  • Car Park View
    • The car park is located on the right off Max Born Crescent as you enter via Gate 1, next to the bus stops.
    • The car park is open air/surface.
    • The car park surface consists of tarmac.

Parking (Peter Guthrie Tait Road – JCMB Car Park)

    • The car park is located off Peter Guthrie Tait Road, in front of the main entrance.
    • The car park is open air/surface.
    • The car park surface consists of tarmac, cobbles and block paving.
    • There are 2 designated Blue Badge parking bays available.
    • The Blue Badge bay is signposted and has markings which are faded.
    • The surveyed Blue Badge parking bay dimensions are 240cm (width) x 490cm (depth).
    • There is a marked zone to both sides and rear.
    • The width of the marked zone is 130cm.
    • The nearest designated bay is 35m from the main entrance.
