Access To
- Lecture Theatre 250 is located on the ground floor of the Joseph Black Building (Chemistry).

- The most accessible route has step-free level access, manual doors, doors permanently held open and shiny flooring.
- There is written text signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access to enter Lecture Theatre 250.
- There is a single manual door which opens towards you.
- The width of the opening is 90cm.
- The door has a low visual contrast.
- There is an alternative entrance to the lecture theatre, which is located along the corridor to the right as you face the main entrance to the lecture theatre (which is in the main corridor of the Joseph Black Building).
This has a single, manual door which opens towards you (pull) to a width of 93cm. It has a low colour contrast with the surrounding wall.
Teaching
- This is a lecture theatre.
- There is step-free level access to the speaker’s area and front row only.
- The following areas have stepped access: the tiered seating.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- Some flooring is shiny.
- Floor coverings are even with no trip hazards.
- The walls and floor have a high visual contrast.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- Lighting levels are adjustable.
- There is tiered seating with no handrails at the steps.
- There are designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- The designated spaces for wheelchair users are located directly in front of the speaker's desk, to the right as you enter the lecture theatre.
- There is step-free level access to the designated space surveyed.
- Companions sit behind you.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: chairs with armrests, chairs without armrests and lecture chairs.
- Furniture available in the room includes: desks.
- All tables and some chairs are fixed.
- The surface heights are suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear underside space of the surfaces is suitable for wheelchair users.
- The height of the speaker's desk/table is 83cm.
- The speaker's desk/table is not height adjustable.

- Despite the signage, there was not a working hearing loop system in this lecture theatre when surveyed (March 2025).
