- Murchison House is a large building with five floors.
- There are two main lifts in the north wing and south wing, and four main staircases within the building.

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free via steep ramps.
- There are some bollards with a low colour contrast on the approach to the main entrance.
- Murchison House has two entrances, both entrances have a steep ramp.
The north entrance also has a platform lift. - The main entrance is signed with the building name.
The north entrance is not named or signed. - The north entrance has ramped or stepped access and a platform lift to overcome the second set of steps.
The ramp on the approach bypasses the first set of steps.
Getting Around
- There is step free level access throughout most of the building on all floors.
- On the lower ground floor there are four steps to access rooms LG 08, LG09 and LG10.
On the ground floor there is a narrow ramp to access the front of Lecture Theatre G26. - Floor surfaces along circulation routes are hard and smooth or carpeted and smooth.
There are some floor surfaces which have a shiny finish. - There are study/resting areas in all circulation areas throughout the building apart from the basement floor.
There is a mixture of seating types in these areas. - Wall mounted wayfinding signage is provided throughout the building.
- There are manual doors along circulation routes throughout the building.
