Overview

Getting Around

  • There is step-free level access along some of the circulation routes.
    There is a steep slope to access the East and South Peffermill playing fields, Cricket Nets, and 3G Pitch 1.
    There is a steep slope or stepped access to 5-A-Side pitches 4-9 and 3G pitch 2.

  • The majority of the circulation routes are hard and smooth.
    The raised path leading towards the East and South Peffermill playing fields is uneven with protruding grass.
    Access to the South Peffermill playing field involves a route across an open grass field.
  • There are no resting areas along circulation routes.
  • Wayfinding signage is limited throughout the area, with some overview maps in places.
  • There are manual gates leading to the majority of sports pitches in this area.
    Please note the fire evacuation strategy for this building relies on the ability to self-transfer in to an evacuation chair.

Parking (Campus Car Park)

  • Car Park View
    • The car park is located between the McArthur Pavilion and Laurie Liddell Clubhouse.
    • The car park is open air/surface.
    • The car park surface consists of tarmac.
    • There are 5 designated Blue Badge parking bays available.
    • The Blue Badge bays are signposted and have markings which are faded.
    • The surveyed Blue Badge parking bay dimensions are 231cm (width) x 485cm (depth).
    • There is a marked zone to both sides but not at the rear.
    • The width of the marked zone is 117cm.
    • There is a dropped kerb without tactile paving from the designated Blue Badge parking.
  • Charges and Restrictions View

  • Drop-off Point View
    • There is not a designated drop-off point available.

Access To (Laurie Liddell Clubhouse)

  • The Laurie Liddell Clubhouse is located at the rear right of the campus car park.
  • The most accessible route has slight ramps or slopes and uneven surfaces.
  • The slope has a slight gradient.
  • The ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide with no handrails.
  • The above information is for the route from the car park.

Cameron Bank Pitches

  • Cameron Bank pitches consist of two large multi-purpose pitches and an archery area.
  • The route to Cameron Bank begins in parking zone A.
  • Follow the path to the rear right of the car park, along a path with a slight slope.
  • Turn left and follow the level path towards the Laurie Liddell Clubhouse.
  • Turn right before the clubhouse, and located directly ahead are the Cameron Bank Pitches.
  • There is a 288cm wide opening on the path leading to the open playing fields.
  • The ground in this area consists of grass, is mostly even and level with some slight slopes throughout.

Water-Based Astro Pitch 1

  • Water-Based Astro Pitch 1 is located immediately to the left of the Laurie Liddell Clubhouse.
  • There is a double gate with an opening width of 188cm to access the area surrounding the pitch.
  • The gate opens towards you and is permanently held open during opening hours.
  • There is a single gate with an opening width of 90cm to access the pitch.
  • The gate opens towards you.
  • There is a seating area overlooking Water-Based Astro Pitch 1 with tiered seating.
  • There are five rows of flip-up seating, with staircases in the middle and on both ends of the seating area.
  • The staircases have 16 clearly marked steps with a step height of 18cm.
  • The depth of the steps is 30cm.
  • There are easy to grip handrails on varying sides of the staircases.
  • The handrails run along the entire length of the staircase, but do not extend horizontally past the first and last steps.

Running Track And Outdoor Gym

  • The Running Track is located between the Water-Based Astro Pitches 1 and 2.
  • The route to the Running Track begins in parking zone A.
  • Using the dropped kerb and slight ramp to access the pavement, immediately turn left and head along the car park path.
  • Turn right at the first opportunity and head towards the corner of Water-Based Astro Pitch 1.
  • Turn left at the end of the path and you will be facing the Running Track.
  • There is a double gate along this route with one gate permanently held open.
  • The opening width is 150cm.
  • The surfaces along the Running Track are level and even.
  • The Outdoor Gym is located at the end of the Running Track area.

Gym (Outdoor Gym)

  • The gym is located at the end of the 100m running track.
  • There is step-free level access into the gym.
  • There is step-free level access throughout.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
  • The gym is staffed at specific times.
  • The walls and floor have a medium visual contrast.
  • There is clear manoeuvring space between equipment (150cm x 150cm).
  • Equipment includes free weights.
  • There is not a hearing assistance system.
  • There is background noise in this area.

Water-Based Astro Pitch 2

  • Water-Based Astro Pitch 2 is located to the left of Water-Based Astro Pitch 1.
  • There is a path in the rear left corner of parking zone C that leads directly to Water-Based Astro Pitch 2.
  • At the time of the survey (August 2024), Water-Based Astro Pitch 2 was being resurfaced and so could not be surveyed.

5-A-Side Pitches 1-3

  • 5-A-Side Pitches 1-3 are located between Water-Based Astro Pitch 2 and parking zone C.
  • There is a path in the rear left corner of parking zone C that leads directly to 5-A-Side Pitches 1-3.
  • At the time of the survey (August 2024) the 5-A-Side Pitches 1-3 were being used for resurfacing works on site, and so could not be surveyed.

East Peffermill Playing Field

  • East Peffermill Playing Field is located to the rear of the 3G sports pitches.
  • The route to East Peffermill Playing Field begins in parking zone C.
  • Taking the uphill sloped path to the rear left of the car park, go through the right-hand 296cm wide double gate, and follow the raised path along Water-Based Astro Pitch 2.
  • Head through the second double gate with an opening width of 298cm and follow the path ahead and to the left.
  • There is a slight slope along this path as it runs down and over a bridge.
  • At the end of the bridge there is a steep slope leading into the open playing field.
  • Surfaces along this route include tarmac, concrete and uneven rubber matting.
  • The surfaces throughout the playing field are grass and are mostly level.

South Peffermill Playing Field

  • South Peffermill Playing Field is located to the rear of the East Peffermill Playing Field.
  • The route to South Peffermill Playing Field begins in parking zone C.
  • Taking the uphill sloped path to the rear left of the car park, go through the right-hand 296cm wide double gate, and follow the raised path along Water-Based Astro Pitch 2.
  • Head through the second double gate with an opening width of 298cm and follow the path ahead and to the left.
  • There is a slight slope along this path as it runs down and over a bridge.
  • At the end of the bridge there is a steep slope leading into East Peffermill Playing Field.
  • Ahead, at the far side of the field there is a path underneath the railway line, with a width of over 300cm.
  • Following this path leads to open access to the South Peffermill Playing Field.
  • Surfaces along this route include tarmac, concrete, uneven rubber matting and grass.
  • The surfaces throughout the playing field are grass and are mostly level.

3G Pitch 1

  • 3G Pitch 1 is located at the rear left of parking zone C.
  • The route to 3G Pitch 1 begins at the sloped path to the rear left of parking zone C.
  • Following this path, enter through the left-hand 300cm wide double gate and follow the sloped path down towards the pitch.
  • There is a double gate that opens towards you to access 3G Pitch 1.
  • The opening width is 304cm.
  • There are two dugouts located to the right of the pitch.
  • The seating does not have armrests, and the second row is accessed by an unmarked 16cm high step.

Cricket Nets

  • The Cricket Nets are located at the rear of 3G Pitch 1.
  • Access to the Cricket Nets is via 10 uneven steps with a step height of 12cm.
  • There is an alternative route using the 50cm wide path running alongside the right of 3G Pitch 1.
  • The route to the Cricket Nets begins in parking zone C.
  • Follow the uphill sloped path at the rear left of parking zone C.
  • If using the stepped path, take the right-hand double gate with an opening width of 296cm. Follow the path and then take the staircase down to the left.
  • If using the narrow sloped path, take the left-hand double gate with an opening width of 298cm. Follow the path down and then follow to the right of the dugouts.
  • Then, follow the path alongside the 3G Pitch to the end, where the Cricket Nets are located.
  • There are single manual gates that open towards you to access the Cricket Nets.
  • The opening width of these gates is 120cm.
  • There is a small step down directly at the gate to enter.
  • Inside, there is very limited space to manoeuvre.

5-A-Side Pitches 4-6

  • 5-A-Side Pitches 4-6 are located to the rear of the McArthur Pavilion.
  • The route to 5-A-Side Pitches 4-6 begins at the rear left of parking zone C.
  • Follow the path to the right of the McArthur Pavilion until the path forks at a level change.
  • At the level changes there is both a steep sloped path with no handrails, and a stepped path with 21 steps and a central handrail.
  • The step height of the staircase is 13cm, with step depths of over 45cm.
  • After the level change, follow the path immediately to the right for 5-A-Side Pitches 4 and 5, or follow the path ahead and to the right for 5-A-Side Pitch 6.
  • There are double gates that open towards you to enter the 5-A-Side Pitches.
  • The opening width of these gates is 300cm.

3G Pitch 2 and Training Triangle

  • 3G Pitch 2 And Training Triangle are located to the rear left of the McArthur Pavilion.
  • The route to 3G Pitch 2 And Training Triangle begins at the rear left of parking zone C.
  • Follow the path to the right of the McArthur Pavilion until the path forks at a level change.
  • At the level change there is both a steep sloped path with no handrails, and a stepped path with 21 steps and a central handrail.
  • The step height of the staircase is 13cm, with step depths of over 45cm.
  • After the level change follow the path ahead and to the right.
  • There are double gates that open towards you to enter 3G Pitch 2 and Training Triangle.
  • The opening width of these gates is 300cm.
  • The Training Triangle is located at the far end of this area.
  • The area to the right of 3G Pitch 2 is tarmac and there are wide openings to access 3G Pitch 2.

5-A-Side Pitches 7-9

  • 5-A-Side Pitches 7-9 are located to the rear left of the McArthur Pavilion.
  • The route to 5-A-Side Pitches 7-9 begins at the rear left of parking zone C.
  • Follow the path to the right of the McArthur Pavilion until the path forks at a level change.
  • At the level change there is both a steep sloped path with no handrails, and a stepped path with 21 steps and a central handrail.
  • The step height of the staircase is 13cm, with step depths of over 45cm.
  • After the level change follow the path ahead along the brick wall to the left.
  • After the path curves to the right, follow the fork in the path to the right.
  • There are single gates that open towards you to access 5-A-Side Pitches 7-9.
  • The opening width of these gates is 120cm.
