About

- Chancellor's Court is located within the Pollock Halls of Residence complex, which is located to the south of Edinburgh city centre, in the St Leonard's area of the city.
- Chancellor's Court is a very large catered hall of residence arranged over 6 floors. It is split into three wings - A Block, B Block and C Block - but is in fact one complete building with internal access throughout.
- Chancellor's Court has 526 rooms in total, comprising a mixture of single and twin rooms, all of which are ensuite.
- Chancellor's Court has 26 rooms with adaptations.
- The rooms with adaptations are located in A Block, on all floors. There is step-free level access via automatic doors to the rooms on the lower ground floor, and step-free level access via manual doors to the rooms on all other floors.
- All rooms with adaptations have an ensuite with a wheel-in shower.
- Standard accommodation has ensuites with stepped shower cubicles.
- There are laundries located on the lower ground floor of A Block and B Block. There is a common room "Absorb" located on the lower ground floor of A Block, which also houses a microlab - quiet study area. There are pantries located within every student flat, which contain a lounge area and kitchen.
- The kitchens in each pantry do not have a hob or conventional oven - this is a catered hall, with the refectory being located in the adjacent John McIntyre Conference Centre.

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free via slight slopes.
- Chancellor's Court has three entrances. The main entrance - A Block provides step-free level access to the ground floor. The B Block and C Block entrances provide step-free access (via steep ramps) to the ground floor. There are two sets of double automatic doors at all three entrances.
- The entrances are signed as "Arthur's Seat - A"; "The Crags - B" and "The Crags - C".
- The main entrance - A Block provides step-free level access to the reception foyer on the ground floor.
- The B Block and C Block entrances both provide step-free access (via steep ramps) to the ground floor.
Getting Around
- There is step-free level access throughout the building on all floors.
- Most floor surfaces along circulation routes consist of vinyl and laminate, both of which are hard and smooth with a shiny finish.
There is some patterned carpet in and on the approach to the common room (Absorb) on the lower ground floor, which you must go through to access the laundry and communal toilet facilities. - There are resting areas in some circulation and lobby areas with a mixture of seating.
- Wall mounted wayfinding signage is provided throughout the building.
- There are manual doors along circulation routes throughout the building, except the room corridor on the lower ground floor of A Block, which has push-pad/key card/key fob activated automatic doors to access all areas.
