About
View
- The Core Technology Facility is a large building with five floors.
There are offices and laboratories which are arranged around a central atrium. - There are two main lifts, and one main staircase.
- The floors are signed B for basement, G for ground floor, 1 for first floor, 2 for second floor, and so on.
This is slightly different inside the lifts where control buttons are marked 0 instead of ground floor, and -1 instead of basement. - View information on Core Technology Facility.

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free via a slope with a very easy gradient.
- There are four entrances to the building.
The most accessible entrance is to the front of the building, off Grafton Street.
There is a second accessible entrance to the rear of the building, off Rumford Street.
There is a further entrance on the third floor via link bridge from the AV Hill Building.
There is also an entrance onto the basement floor from the basement car park. - The main entrance is not named (signed as Core Technology Facility).
- The main entrance gives direct access to the ground floor, which provides step-free access via lift to the building.
- There are manual doors at the internal and basement entrances.
Getting Around
- Circulation routes beyond reception and adjacent ground floor facilities require a key card.
- There are shiny surfaces is many areas on the ground floor, and in some corridors from the first floor upwards.
- There is plenty of mixed seating on the ground floor in communal areas, including the atrium.
There is a mixture of seating in other areas from the first floor upwards. - Wayfinding signage is provided near reception, and in the lift lobby on all floors.
- There are manual doors in some circulation routes within the building.
