- Coupland Building 1 is a medium building with three floors.
- There are two lifts and two staircases within the building.
- The floors are signed as Ground and First floor, however the ground floor also includes the Lower Ground Floor.

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step free via slight slopes.
- Coupland Building 1 has two entrances, one entrance provides step-free access via slight ramp with automatic doors (accessible entrance).
- The accessible entrance is signed but not named.
The main entrance is signed with the building name. - The accessible entrance gives access to the lower ground floor and the platform lift to the first floor. There is ramped access to the lift to the ground floor.
- The main entrance has a long ramp or steps to access. Doors at this entrance are manual.
Getting Around
- There is ramped/stepped access to the ground floor from the lower ground floor.
There are 4 clearly marked step(s), with a handrail on both sides, for access to the ground floor from the lower ground floor left of the building.
The ramp and steps can be overcome by using the lift in Room G33. There are 4 clearly marked step(s), with a handrail on the left side going up, for access to the lower ground male toilet and female toilets on the right of the building.
There is a slight ramp, with no handrails, for access to the Child Study Centre on the first floor.
There are 10+ clearly marked step(s), with a handrail on both sides, for access to the Child Study Centre offices. - There are some narrow corridors on the ground floor.
- Floor surfaces along circulation routes are hard and smooth or carpeted and smooth.
There are some floor surfaces which are patterned or have a shiny finish. - Wayfinding signage is provided in circulation routes to assist people in finding their way around.
