About
View
- The Samuel Alexander is a very large building with six floors.
- There are two lifts and two main staircase, located at the North and South entrances.
- The floors are signed as LG, G, 1, 2, 3 and 4.
- Room A214 and A215 in the west wing, on the second floor, is not accessible for wheelchair users as there is stepped access only to these rooms.

Parking and Public Transport

- The venue shares a car park which has Blue Badge parking available.
- The nearest parking is located to the front of the Ellen Wilkinson Building.

- Opening times for the building are Monday - Friday 09:00 to 17:00 Closed Saturday and Sunday.
Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free and level via the South ntrance .
- The building has two entrances.
The South entrance is the accessible entrance located to the rear of the building. - The entrances are signed as Samuel Alexander South entrance, Accessible entrance and Samuel Alexander North entrance.
- The North Entrance has stepped access.
Getting Around
- There is step-free level access throughout the majority of the building on all floors.
- There is stepped access only to rooms A214 and A215 in the Classics West Wing.
- There is a platform lift to access the rooms on the first floor at the North entrance.
- On the ground floor to the right of the North entrance, there is access to the Lecture Theatre, which is via the garden quadrangle.
Access must be arranged with the building warden in advance. - Floor surfaces along all circulation routes are hard and smooth, with some having a shiny finish or carpeted.
- There are resting areas in some circulation and lobby areas with a mixture of seating.
- Wall mounted wayfinding signage is provided throughout the building.
- There are not any manual doors in circulation corridors, only for access to stairwells.

- There are 5 toilets with adaptations.
- Toilets with adaptations are located on the lower ground floor, 1, 2, 3, and 4 levels.
- The transfer space varies between left and right in the toilets with adaptations.
- In the West Wing all four toilets with adaptations are left hand transfer.
- Ambulant toilet facilities are located within the standard toilets.
- The male and female toilet facilities are located on lower ground floor, 1, 2, 3 an 4 levels.

Entrance (South Entrance - Accessible)
