Getting to the Room (Adapted Room 016)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- Enter through the hotel main entrance and turn right at reception.
Head straight along the corridor, passing the lifts. Proceed through the doors (which are permanently held open) into the room corridor, which veers to the left.
Room 016 is on your right. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access and doors permanently held open.
- The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny and patterned.
Room (Adapted Room 016)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are more than 10 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 89cm wide.
- The bed type is double.
- The top of the mattress is 70cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 27cm high.
- Furniture can be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- There is hard flooring and deep pile carpet.
- The flooring is shiny and patterned.
- Seating in the room includes: a chair with armrests, a chair without armrests and an armchair.
- The following adaptations are available: light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm), plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm), bedside plug sockets and window controls at a recommended height (between 80cm - 100cm).
- The following adaptations are not available: a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm), adapted wardrobes for seated users and a lowered spyhole.
- The room has a fridge. This can be used to store medication.
- The room does not have an emergency alarm.
- The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
- The room does not have a ceiling track hoist.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal room door and the ensuite door.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the room floor.
- Lighting levels can be adjusted.

- There is a balcony. The door is over 75cm wide and has a short step.

Ensuite (Adapted Room 016)
- The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 93cm.
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as there is not enough space.
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is shiny and patterned.
- The toilet seat is 42cm from the floor.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and horizontal grab rails at the shower.
- Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
- Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin and the soap dispenser.
- The taps are lever mixer.
- The ensuite does not have an emergency alarm.
- The ensuite does not have a flashing fire alarm.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: all grab rails.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the floor, the toilet seat and the internal door.
- The ensuite has: a shower cubicle and a shower with a step.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
