Getting to the Room (Room 208 - Building 2)

  • The average walking time to the room is 3 minutes.
  • Exit the reception area via the front doors and head down the ramp.
    Proceed straight ahead and turn right at the first water fountain.
    Continue along the pathway, then turn left at the second water fountain.
    Proceed up the ramp into Building 2 then veer right into the room corridor. The door to room number 208 is on the right.
  • The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a steep ramp/slope, an open entrance with no doors, manual doors and doors permanently held open.
  • The majority of the walkways on route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
  • Some flooring on the route is patterned.
  • There are buggies available for all guests, which are used to overcome the ramp/slope.

Room (208)

  • This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 9 rooms of this type in the resort.
  • All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 85cm wide.
  • The bed type is single and double.
  • The top of the mattress is 60cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 35cm high.
  • Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
  • The room does have an emergency alarm.
  • There is hard flooring.

Ensuite (208)

  • The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 85cm.
  • There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a wheel-in shower.
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 120cm.
  • Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder, a soap dispenser and an emergency alarm.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: a vertical grab rail on the non transfer side.
  • There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
