Access Guide
Getting to the Room (3004)
- The average walking time to the room is 6 minutes.
- Exit reception via the rear exit door and proceed ahead along the level pathway. Follow the 2nd pathway off the roundabout then continue straight along the pathway.
Take a right on pathway towards Building 3 and enter the building through the open doorway. Turn left into the room corridor and the second door on the left is room number 3004. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, slight ramps/slopes, an open entrance with no doors, a manual door and doors permanently held open.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny.
- There are buggies available for all guests, which are used to overcome the ramp/slope.
- The buggies can be transferred into from a wheelchair.
Room (3004)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 8 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 84cm wide.
- The bed type is double.
- The top of the mattress is 60cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 10cm high.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- The width of the balcony door is 82cm. There is a 4cm lip at the threshold to the balcony.
Ensuite (3004 - Left Hand Transfer)
- The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 82cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a shower with a step.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 196cm.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and a diagonal grab rail at the shower.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- There is a flip-down seat and a dropdown rail in the shower.
