Getting to the Room (5008)

  • The average walking time to the room is 6 minutes.
  • Take the lift on the left hand side of the reception lobby, to the lower ground floor.
    Turn left out of the lift and continue along the corridor on the left.
    Proceed through the opening at the end of the corridor and veer slightly left.
    Continue past the doctor's clinic.
    The door to room 5008 will be on your right.
  • The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a standard lift, manual doors and doors permanently held open.
  • The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
  • The width of the lift door opening is 100cm.
  • The internal dimensions for the lift are 130cm x 175cm.

Room (5008)

  • All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
  • There is step-free access into the room, via a ramp.
  • The ramp is slight, between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • The room door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 96cm wide.
  • The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
  • The top of the mattress is 64cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 20cm high.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
  • The room does not have an emergency alarm.
  • There is hard flooring.

Ensuite (5008)

  • The ensuite door opens towards you and has an opening width of 100cm.
  • There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet and a wheel-in shower.
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 120cm.
  • Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder and an emergency alarm.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and a horizontal grab rail at the shower.
  • There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
