Getting to the Room (1003)

  • The average walking time to the room is 3 minutes.
  • Exit reception via the main entrance doors and turn right. Proceed down the steep ramp and turn right at the bottom.
    Continue along the pathway until you reach room number 1003 on the left, which is located at the top of a slight ramp.
  • The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a slight ramp/slope, a steep ramp/slope and automatic doors.
  • The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
  • Some flooring on the route is shiny.

Room (1003)

  • This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 2 rooms of this type in the resort.
  • All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
  • There is step-free access into the room, via a ramp.
  • The ramp is slight, between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 86cm wide.
  • The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
  • The top of the mattress is 50cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 3cm high.
  • Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
  • The room does have an emergency alarm.
  • There is hard flooring.

Ensuite (1003 - Left Hand Transfer)

  • The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 80cm.
  • There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a wheel-in shower.
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 96cm.
  • Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and a horizontal grab rail at the shower.
  • There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
  • There are also horizontal grab rails on both sides of the wash basin and a dropdown rail immediately to the right of the shower.
