Access Guide
Resort Information
- This adults-only, beach-front resort is set on a cliffside overlooking Ermones Beach in western Corfu, Greece.
- There are 5 levels of hillside rooms, which are accessible via a funicular railway or buggy transportation.
There are two steep ramps on the resort and there is lift access in the main building to some of the facilities. - This resort has the following facilities: beach access, swimming pools and restaurants.
- The resort has 270 rooms available. none of these rooms have adaptations for disabled people.
- Adjoining rooms are not available.
- There are 3 restaurants.
- There are 2 swimming pools (excluding room pools).
- Toilet and changing facilities available include: step-free standard toilets.
- Standard toilet facilities can be found in reception, near the main pool and on the beach.
- There is a medication fridge available on request.
- Guests cannot hire mobility equipment from the resort.
- Guests can hire mobility equipment locally.
- The resort has a list of local suppliers.
- Guests can use their own mobility scooter at the resort.
- Guests can store and charge their mobility scooters in their rooms. The only rooms with step-free access are by accessible by lift in the main building.
- We have been told that assistance dogs are allowed in most areas of the resort.
- Assistance dogs are able to stay with guests in rooms with adaptations for disabled people.
- Assistance dog spending areas are not available in the resort.
- Water bowls for assistance dogs are not available.
- Guests can bring food for assistance dogs which can be stored in the guests' rooms.
- This resort is not aware of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme.
- There is not a Safe/Quiet Place available in the resort.
- WiFi is available throughout the resort.
On-site Facilities
- This resort has the following available; a gym, a spa, a sauna, a steam room, treatment rooms, sports courts and a shop. There may be additional charges for some of these facilities, for more information please contact TUI or the resort.
- There are facilities for the following sports available at this resort: tennis, table tennis, Boccia and yoga.
- Activities available at this resort include: water aerobics, golf (which is located at a local golf course nearby but is bookable at reception and includes free transfers).
- The following areas have step-free level access: There is step-free access from reception to the standard toilets and lifts.
- The following areas have step-free access via lift: There is step-free access via lift to access some of the rooms.
- The following areas have step-free access via slight ramps or slopes: There is a slight ramp from the automatic entrance doors to the reception area.
- The following areas have step-free access via steep or very steep ramps or slopes: There are steep ramps to access the sand on the beach and to access the a la carte restaurant.
- The following areas do not have step-free access: There is stepped access at the main entrance to the resort.
There is a step after the rear exit of the reception, then many sets of steps to access all the facilities and activities. - There is a funicular lift to take guests to the beach and some of the rooms. Thereafter there are many steps and a steep ramp.
Entrance
- The entrance to the resort is located on the left side of the main building.
- There is no step-free access at the entrance to the resort.
- There is 1 step, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
- There are automatic doors at the entrance, which open by sliding.
- The width of the door opening is 180cm.
- The step to access the automatic doors is 8cm high.
The manual doors at the stepped entrance to the resort are 220cm wide. The 2nd set of doors are automatic and are 180cm wide.
Reception
- Access to reception is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The ramp is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- The reception desk is too high for a wheelchair user.
- The reception does not have a hearing assistance system.
- There is hard flooring.
- The height of the reception desk is 120cm.
Getting Around the Building
- This building contains a main reception, restaurants, an indoor pool, a gym and sports courts.
- The building has multiple floors which can be accessed via stairs and lift.
- There is step-free access from reception to the standard toilets and lifts.
There is step-free access via lift to access some of the rooms. - There is a slight ramp from the automatic entrance doors to the reception area.
- There are steep ramps to access the sand on the beach and to access the a la carte restaurant.
- There is stepped access at the main entrance to the resort.
There is a step after the rear exit of the reception, then many sets of steps to access all the facilities and activities. - The floors that can be accessed from the lift are -3, -2, -1, 0 and 1.
- The lift door opening width is 87cm.
- The dimensions of the lift are 92cm x 110cm.
- There is a funicular lift to take guests to the beach and to some of the rooms. There are many steps after the funicular lift.
There are buggies available to transport guests and their luggage around the resort.
Toilet (Reception)
- The male standard toilet was surveyed.
- There is also a female toilet in the same location.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door is 80cm. The width of the cubicle door is 60cm.
