Getting to the Room (Asteria Building - Room 152)

  • The average walking time to the room is 6 minutes.
  • Exit the reception via the main entrance doors and turn right along the covered walkway.
    Continue along the walkway and take the ramp on the right, before the Asteria building entrance.
    Proceed through the double automatic doors.
    Turn left towards the lifts and take the lift to the first floor.
    Exit the lift to the left and walk along the corridor, room 152 is on the left.
  • The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a standard lift, a steep ramp/slope and an automatic door.
  • The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
  • The width of the lift door opening is 80cm.
  • The internal dimensions for the lift are 100cm x 220cm.

Room (152)

  • This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are more than 10 rooms of this type in the resort.
  • All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 104cm wide.
  • The bed type is double.
  • The top of the mattress is 50cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 4cm high.
  • Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
  • The room does have an emergency alarm.
  • There is hard flooring.

Ensuite (152 - Right Hand Transfer)

  • The ensuite door opens towards you and has an opening width of 92cm.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a wheel-in shower.
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 136cm.
  • Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the non transfer side.
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: a vertical grab rail on the transfer side and a horizontal grab rail at the shower.
  • There is a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
