Access Guide
Getting to the Room (216)
- The average walking time to the room is 5 minutes.
- From the reception take the lift to the 2nd floor. Exit the lift and turn right, then turn right into the corridor. Room 216 is on the right hand side at the end of the corridor.
- The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a standard lift and doors permanently held open.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are under 120cm.
- Some flooring on the route is patterned.
Room (216)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 4 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a medium colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 76cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 56cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 27cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
Ensuite (216 Right Hand Transfer)
- The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 78cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin, a lowered bath and a wheel-in shower.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 121cm.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder.
- There is a dropdown rail on both sides of the toilet seat.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a vertical grab rail on the non transfer side, a diagonal grab rail at the bath, a horizontal grab rail at the bath, a horizontal grab rail at the shower and a vertical grab rail at the shower.
- There is a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
