Access Guide
Getting to the Room (2007)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- From the entrance foyer, take the right-hand corridor and continue straight ahead towards the jewellery shop. At the jewellery shop, turn right and then left, following the room corridor round to the left. Room 2007 is located on the right-hand side of the room corridor, opposite the lift.
- The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access and doors permanently held open.
- The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- The flooring on the route is shiny and patterned.
Room (2007)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 4 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 92cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 62cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 11cm high.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is shiny.
- The following adaptations are available: adapted wardrobes for seated users, light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm), plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm) and bedside plug sockets.
- The following adaptations are not available: a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm) and a lowered spyhole.
- The room has a fridge. This can be used to store medication.
- The room does not have an emergency alarm.
- The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
- The room does not have a ceiling track hoist.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal room door, the room floor and the ensuite door.

Balcony / Terrace

- There is a balcony. The door is over 75cm wide.
- The balcony has: a coffee table and chairs without armrests.
- There is a short steep ramp to enter the balcony.
Ensuite (2007)
- The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 86cm.
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as there is not enough space.
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is shiny.
- The toilet seat is 47cm from the floor.
- There is a dropdown rail on the right.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a vertical rail on the left side of the wash basin.
- Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
- Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin and the soap dispenser.
- The taps are lever mixer.
- The ensuite does have an emergency alarm.
- The ensuite does not have a flashing fire alarm.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal door, all grab rails, the dropdown rail and the floor.
- The ensuite has: a wheel-in shower.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- There is a handheld shower head.
- There is a flip-down shower seat.
- There are no dropdown rails for the shower.
- There is a short, steep ramp for access into the ensuite bathroom and into the shower cubicle.
