Access Guide
Getting to the Room (1021)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- Head to the right hand side of the reception desk and go up the ramp.
Take a right and proceed through the fire doors into the room corridor. Room 1021 is on the left hand side. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access and a steep ramp/slope.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny and patterned.
Room (1021)
- There is step-free access into the room, via a ramp.
- The ramp is steep, between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 82cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 53cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 12cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
Ensuite (1021)
- The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 84cm.
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a shower cubicle.
- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as there is not enough space.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder, a soap dispenser and an emergency alarm.
- There is no dropdown rail.
