Getting to the Room (015)

  • The average walking time to the room is 4 minutes.
  • From the reception desk, take one of the lifts on the right hand side to floor "S". On exiting the lift, turn left and continue along the room corridor. Room 015 is the second room on the left.
  • The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access and a standard lift.
  • The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
  • Some flooring on the route is shiny.

Room (015)

  • This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 5 rooms of this type in the resort.
  • All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 90cm wide.
  • The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
  • The top of the mattress is 56cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 28cm high.
  • Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is shiny.
  • The following adaptations are available: light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm), plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm) and bedside plug sockets.
  • The room does have an emergency alarm.
  • The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal room door, the room floor and the ensuite door.
  • Balcony / Terrace View
    • There is a balcony. The door is over 75cm wide and has a small threshold .
    • The balcony has: a patio table and chairs with armrests.
  • Living Area View
    • Seating in the room includes: a sofa.
    • There is hard flooring.
    • The flooring is shiny.
    • Furniture in the room includes: a dining table at a suitable height for wheelchair users (between 70cm - 80cm) and a coffee table.

Ensuite (015 - Left Hand Transfer)

  • The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 80cm.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 100cm .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is patterned.
  • The toilet seat is 40cm from the floor.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: horizontal grab rails at the shower.
  • Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
  • Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin and the soap dispenser.
  • The taps are lever mixer.
  • The ensuite does not have an emergency alarm.
  • The ensuite does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal door, all grab rails, the dropdown rail and the floor.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the toilet seat.
  • The ensuite has: a shower with a step.
  • There is a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is an adjustable, detachable shower head at a recommended height (between 105cm - 185cm).
  • There is a shower seat.
  • There is a 3cm high frame around the shower.
