Getting to the Room (Room 1003)

  • The average walking time to the room is 4 minutes.
  • From the entrance foyer, turn left along the main ground floor corridor until you reach the bank of lifts on the right.
    Take the lift to the first floor.
    Upon exiting the lift, turn right and continue straight along corridor A (Rooms 1001 -1044).
    Room 1003 is located on the right hand side.
  • The most accessible route to the room has a standard lift and step-free level access.
  • The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
  • The flooring on the route is shiny.

Room (Room 1003)

  • This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 5 rooms of this type in the resort.
  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 77cm wide.
  • The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
  • The top of the mattress is 49cm from the floor.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm) .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is shiny.
  • Seating in the room includes: a chair with armrests.
  • The following adaptations are available: light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm), bedside plug sockets, a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm) and plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm).
  • The following adaptations are not available: adapted wardrobes for seated users, window controls at a recommended height (between 80cm - 100cm) and a lowered spyhole.
  • The room has a fridge. This cannot be used to store medication.
  • The room does not have an emergency alarm.
  • The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The room does not have a ceiling track hoist.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the room floor, the ensuite door and the internal room door.

Ensuite (Room 1003 - Left Hand Transfer)

  • The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 76cm.
  • There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 89cm .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is shiny.
  • The toilet seat is 47cm from the floor.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail at the shower and a vertical grab rail at the shower.
  • Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
  • Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin, the towel dispenser and the soap dispenser.
  • The taps are lever mixer.
  • The ensuite does not have an emergency alarm.
  • The ensuite does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the dropdown rail and the internal door.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the floor, some grab rails and the toilet seat.
  • The ensuite has: a shower without a step.
  • There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is an adjustable, detachable shower head not at a recommended height (between 105cm - 185cm).
